SEATTLE — A 14-year-old boy charged for a string of gas station robberies pleaded not guilty in the juvenile division of King County Superior Court on Thursday, Nov. 21.
The boy, who was 13 at the time, faces four counts of first-degree robbery and one count of making a false or misleading statement to a public servant.
According to the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, 19-year-old Amarri Lard and 21-year-old Ty'Zavius Holmes were charged with four counts of felony first-degree robbery in connection to the robberies. Both adults remain in custody on $400,000 bail and are scheduled to appear in court Dec. 4.
Seattle police believe the trio is behind a series of convenience store robberies over an hour-and-a-half in the early morning hours of Nov. 15 – from Georgetown to West Seattle. According to court documents, the suspects made off with cash from the registers, tobacco products and a cashier's wallet. They were also captured on store surveillance footage at all four locations.
According to court documents, the three are believed to be connected to several other robberies from earlier in the month, but charges have not been filed in connection to those.
The three were arrested Saturday, Nov. 16 after leading police on a dramatic car chase that ended in a crash near Tukwila. At the time of his arrest, the 14-year-old was wearing clothing "nearly identical" to that worn during the robberies that were committed, according to court documents.
After being arrested, the boy allegedly provided a false identity but was later recognized by youth detention officers.
On Nov. 18, officers did a search of two vehicles allegedly used by the suspects. A glove was found that can be seen on the boy's right hand in surveillance footage, according to court documents.
