KING COUNTY, Wash. — Four teenagers were taken into custody after a series of armed robberies in Renton and Tukwila overnight.
The male teens, a 13-year-old, 14-year-old and two 15-year-olds, allegedly robbed a gas station and two convenience stores before leading police on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle that ended in Pierce County. They were booked into the King County Juvenile Detention Center on investigation of first-degree robbery.
Tukwila police responded to an armed robbery at a gas station in the 13100 block of Interurban Avenue South on the night of July 17. They fled before police arrived.
Not long after, they allegedly robbed a convenience store in the 600 block of Strander Boulevard.
Just after 2 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, Renton police responded to a convenience store robbery in the 400 block of Sunset Boulevard North. According to police, audio and video from surveillance cameras shows one of the teens armed with a handgun point it at a store employee several times and demanding money while the other teens steal money and vaping products.
The teens then fled in the suspected stolen vehicle.
While police were investigating, they learned the four teens involved matched the descriptions of the robberies in Tukwila.
King County deputies spotted the suspects in Burien and a pursuit began.
The suspects led deputies on southbound Interstate 5 to the city of Lakewood in Pierce County.
Lakewood police were able to stop the vehicle using the PIT technique and the suspects were taken into custody.
The Renton Police Department is taking the primary role in the investigation.
