Drive-by along Aurora Avenue in Seattle leaves two injured

The two 18-year-olds were taken to Harborview Medical Center and are expected to survive.

SEATTLE — Two men were shot on Aurora Avenue in a drive-by shooting Thursday afternoon.

The men, who Seattle Fire Department said were both 18 years old, were taken to Harborview Medical Center. They are expected to survive.

The drive-by happened shortly after noon at 10300 Aurora Avenue North, near a Rapid Ride E Line bus stop and an O'Reilly Auto Parts store.

Officers arrived at 12:15 p.m. and provided aid to the two victims until paramedics took over.

The manager of the store told KING 5 that some people ran inside the building when they heard the shots.

The Gun Violence Reduction Unit is still investigating what happened and no suspects have been identified.

Seattle Police are asking anyone with information to call the Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.

Ronald Dettman, who lives nearby, said he heard five gunshots.

"It's becoming a dangerous area and being on the front of this highway is becoming a safety issue," he said.
