VANCOUVER, Wash. — Vancouver police have arrested a man accused of threatening to hurt people with a samurai sword near a Walmart on Sunday.
Around 5:34 p.m., multiple people called 911 and reported seeing a man with a samurai sword walking in traffic in the area of Southeast 192nd Avenue and Southeast 3rd Street. The man walked towards a nearby Walmart store parking lot and was "screaming and threatening to hurt people," Vancouver police said. He walked into the Walmart just before police arrived.
Officers started to evacuate the store and found the suspect, identified as 43-year-old Ravi Saxena, inside. Police arrested Saxena for felony harassment, dangerous weapon and displaying a weapon. They also found a 5-inch knife in his pocket.
