VANCOUVER, Wash. — A man is dead in Vancouver following a hit-and-run near Northeast Andresen Road last Monday.

The Vancouver Police Department said it was responding to do a welfare check on a man found under a tree along Northeast Andresen. When officers arrived, they found the man dead. It appeared the man had been killed after a vehicle hit him while sitting under the tree, the Vancouver Police Department said.

The Clark County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man killed as 38-year-old Patrick James Sellem on Tuesday. Sellem died from blunt force injuries.

Officers found the vehicle that hit the man unoccupied nearby, but surveillance footage showed a woman wearing "distinctive clothing" leaving the scene. A K9 unit located the woman, and VPD said she's been detained pending further investigation.

Vancouver police later identified the woman as Luella F. Roberson. She was arrested and booked into the Clark County Jail on a charge of vehicular homicide and an outstanding warrant from the Washington State Department of Corrections.

Detectives from the Vancouver Police Department Major Crimes team and Vancouver Police Traffic Unit are investigating the incident.
