SEATTLE – Seattle police have released surveillance video of what they say is a group of men and women suspected of robbing tourists outside the entrance to the downtown bus and train tunnel.

SPD says the black and white video shows the group walking at Third Avenue and Pine Street on Aug. 25, the night of the incident.

Anyone who recognizes someone in the video is asked to call Seattle police robbery detectives at (206) 684-5535.

The victims, a man and two women visiting from Rhode Island, were walking out of the bus tunnel at 3rd Avenue and Pine Street just after 11 p.m. when they passed the group, say Seattle police. A woman in the group accused one of the victims of bumping into her. When they apologized, the woman burned one of the male tourists with a lit cigarette.

The group of suspects stole a cellphone from the victims and struck the 29-year-old man in the head with a broken bottle when he shouted for help. The suspects then punched the two female victims, ages 23 and 24, in the face.

When police arrived at the scene, the suspects had fled.

The victims provided police few details of the group of suspects. They did describe the woman who burned the male victim as a black female in her 20s, 5'8"-5'10" tall, with a heavy build. She wore a brown jacket, grey shirt and jeans.

The suspects in the video appear to be in their late teens to early 20s.

Police have arrested and booked a 17-year-old boy in connection with the robbery.
