On Friday surveillance video was released showing Joshua O'Connor and a partner rob a gas station at gunpoint.
According to charging documents, O'Connor robbed the Everett gas station on Monday, a day before his arrest for plotting to shoot his classmates. Surveillance video shows two suspects enter the store around 10:12 p.m., wearing masks resembling Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un.
The 18-year-old student was charged Thursday with allegedly planning a school shooting at ACES High School in Everett, Washington. O'Connor was charged with Attempted First Degree Murder for the alleged shooting plot, First Degree Robbery, and Third Degree Assault.
Police officers secured a search warrant for O'Connor's room and discovered an AK-47 and journals detailing his plans.
Police believe the teen used the same AK-47 to rob a convenience store on February 12. They were able to compare the weapon with that seen in the gas station surveillance video by the "...distinctive, abnormally high front sight of the rifle..."
Court documents state he wrote in his journal about how powerful he felt because of how scared the female clerk was.
Police searched through O'Connor's room and discovered both masks used in the robbery and identified a green and black jacket worn by the suspect holding a gun in the surveillance video.
According to a police report, the pair stole approximately $100 from the cash register.
O'Connor attended Kamiak High School last year before transferring to ACES Alternative School this fall. Detective says he simply flipped a coin to determine which school to target. It came up ACES.
He was also charged with Third Degree Assault for kicking an officer after he slipped out of one of his handcuffs and tried to escape Tuesday.
O'Connor made his first appearance in court Wednesday and is being held on $5 million bail.
