WHITE CENTER, Wash. — A woman was arrested Friday night in connection to a body found in a White Center apartment.
The King County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) was called at about 7:15 p.m. Friday for a possible homicide in the 9800 block of 15th Ave SW in White Center. KCSO deputies found a woman dead inside one of the rooms of the apartment. Sofia Fishchuk, 19, was arrested in connection to the victim's death.
According to court documents, Fishchuk told a dispatcher, "she tried to punch me and I stabbed her." The victim allegedly asked the 19-year-old when she could pay rent and struck her in the face. Fischuk told authorities she responded by stabbing her twice in the stomach with a knife.
Fishchuk walked to a nearby park for 30 minutes before returning to the house and called her sister, according to court documents. She showed her sister the woman's body in a video call, court documents detailed.
One of the other people living inside the apartment said Fishchuk had made several threats that she would kill the victim if she asked again about paying rent.
KCSO deputy Mike Mellis said Fishchuk was booked into the King County Jail at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. Fishchuk made her first appearance in court on Saturday afternoon. The court set her bail at $2 million.
The 19-year-old faces second-degree murder charges.
