WHITE CENTER, Wash. — A woman was arrested Friday night in connection to a body found in a White Center apartment.
The King County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) was called at about 7:15 p.m. Friday for a possible homicide in the 9800 block of 15th Ave SW in White Center. KCSO deputies found a woman dead inside one of the rooms of the apartment.
A 19-year-old woman was arrested in connection to the victim's death. KING 5 does not name suspects until they have been formally charged.
According to court documents, the woman told a dispatcher, "she tried to punch me and I stabbed her." The victim allegedly asked the 19-year-old when she could pay rent and struck her in the face. The suspect told authorities she responded by stabbing her twice in the stomach with a knife.
The suspect then walked to a nearby park for 30 minutes before returning to the house and called her sister, according to court documents. She showed her sister the woman's body in a video call, court documents detailed.
One of the other people living inside the apartment said the suspect had made several threats that she would kill the victim if she asked again about paying rent.
KCSO deputy Mike Mellis said the suspect was booked into the King County Jail at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. The suspect made her first appearance in court on Saturday afternoon. The court set her bail at $2 million.
The 19-year-old is expected to face second-degree murder charges.
