GRAYS HARBOR, Wash. — A woman died Friday night after falling through an old train trestle in Grays Harbor County, according to authorities.

The Grays Harbor Sheriff's Office said deputies were called just before 7:30 p.m. Friday for a hiking accident off Kelly Road in the Matlock area. Callers reported a hunter falling through an old train trestle, a bridge made up of short platforms, down to the riverbank about 100-150 feet below.

Authorities confirmed Haley Benjamin, 24, died from her injuries in the fall. Deputies and fire personnel were not able to get safely to the victim on Friday because of the steep terrain.

According to the Grays Harbor Sheriff's Office, the rising river carried the 24-year-old downstream. The Thurston County Sheriff's Special Operations Rescue Team (SORT) is working with Mason County's SORT to locate Benjamin.
