SEATTLE — Police are investigating a homicide after a woman was shot and killed in West Seattle Tuesday afternoon.
The Seattle Police Department said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that officers were called just after 1 p.m. to investigate a shooting in the 4400 block of Southwest Hudson Street.
A spokesperson for the Seattle Fire Department said emergency crews tried life-saving measures on a 57-year-old woman, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are investigating the woman's death as a homicide.
Seattle officer Brian Pritchard said three people were involved in the shooting, including the victim. Pritchard did not specify which person fired gunshots. The other two people are being questioned by police, Pritchard said.
"So essentially, I live right here. I saw some cop cars fly through. I walk out and look down the street, and they immediately throw up the cones and taped off some stuff," said West Seattle resident Roger Kilburn.
