How former Interior Secretary Sally Jewell is working at UW to solve difficult environmental problems

Sally Jewell is the chair of EarthLab’s advisory council. She's working to unite the environmental sciences with the community that can benefit from its research.

SEATTLE — When Sally Jewell, Secretary of the Interior during the Obama Administration, was looking for her next adventure, she headed back to the Pacific Northwest and the University of Washington.  We'll talk with Sally about her career, from Mechanical Engineer to CEO to the White House and back to UW where she is currently working as a "Distinguished Fellow" in the UW College of the Environment and chairs the Advisory Council for EarthLab, a cutting-edge research institute.

We'll talk with Sally and EarthLab's Executive Director Ben Packard about the work they are doing translating UW's world-class science into practical, on-the-ground solutions for decision makers on a variety of environmental challenges and how we can all play a role in tackling those challenges if we work together.
