SEATTLE – Drivers using the Interstate 405 Express Toll lanes saw some unusual tolls Monday morning.

Seventy-five cent tolls, for example, was reading as 77 cents on the boards over I-405.

WSDOT’s Good To Go division said the signs were displaying predetermined rates based on time of day. But if the rates show up with an unusual number – in this case, a “7,” it’s an alert to engineers that there is a problem.

At one time, the signs said $6.52. They also said “open” at times.

Good To Go says there was a communication error between roadside equipment and traffic management system.

The signs also were not matching what the website was saying about the rates. Good To Go says drivers will pay what they saw on the signs, not on the website.

Drivers are advised to check their Good To Go accounts to make sure they were charged the correct amount.
