SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — One person has died after a head-on collision in Snohomish County on Wednesday night, during which another person was trapped inside their car, according to the Snohomish County Fire District.
The two-car collision occurred on state Route 2 near Three Lakes Road around 7 p.m. Snohomish County sheriff deputies arrived on scene and found both drivers were trapped inside their cars, officials said.
Crews from Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue arrived on the scene and found one person dead at the scene. A second driver was trapped for 12 minutes while first responders extricated them from inside the car.
The cause of the collision is under investigation by the Washington State Patrol (WSP). State Route 2 was closed for hours for an investigation into the crash. It has since fully reopened.
