Gene Moy just turned 101 and celebrated with his favorite activity: dancing!
Fox Trot. Tango. Waltz: Gene is a master of them all. And he has no shortage of dance partners.
Leilani Taniguchi took a spin with Moy and said he’s always a favorite. "He's a wonderful person, inside and out, but more than that, he's a good dancer,” said Taniguchi.
Moy never leaves the dance floor, effortlessly leading one partner after another.
“I've been dancing ever since World War II, I was in the Army and learned to dance at the USO,” he explained.
He lost his wife a few months ago, his partner for 65 years. He’s never alone out on this dance floor, but Moy laughs about all the female attention.
His daughter says it’s a skill he tried to pass down to his children.
“I have three brothers, so he tells them all the time, learn how to dance and you'll always have lady friends,” she explained.
He still drives, takes care of himself and he's a force on the dance floor. What is his secret?
“People ask me that all the time, I tell them I eat lots of rice. Haha. Just kidding,” he said, displaying his sense of humor.
Is it the dancing? Moy isn't sure, but he plans to find out.
“Keep on dancing,” he said.
