BREMERTON, Wash. — Amazon is building a new delivery facility in Bremerton.
The new 117,351 square foot warehouse will be built on 31.5 acres of land near Airport Way SW and SW Nixon Loop.
The facility will be about nine miles outside of the City of Bremerton's downtown area.
An Amazon spokesperson said it will help make delivery times faster.
“We are excited to expand our network into Kitsap County to speed up delivery times for customers, and provide great job opportunities for the talented workforce," a statement from Amazon read.
Bremerton Mayor Greg Wheeler said he believes the new facility will bring about 200 jobs to the city.
“It is exciting that Amazon is building a new 117,351 square foot warehouse, which will bring jobs and economic opportunity to the City of Bremerton. I’m proud that private companies are looking at our City to expand and I believe that more will come here as they see the quality of our workforce and benefits of doing business here,” Mayor Wheeler said.
The new Amazon facility will be operational by October 2020, according to the city officials.
