PORTLAND, Ore. — Service on Amtrak Cascades trains between Portland and Seattle resumed on Sunday morning after being suspended since Thursday night due to a landslide, according to Amtrak.
"We sincerely appreciate your continued patience and understanding during these delays," the company stated.
Amtrak cited previous weather events as the reasoning for the landslide and track closure.
While train service was shut down, buses were provided to transport most passengers past the closure.
Amtrak said customers with reservations on trains that are modified typically will be accommodated on trains with similar departure times or on another day.
The company will also waive additional charges for customers changing their reservation during the modified schedule if they contact the reservation center.
