SEATTLE — Amtrak Cascades trains between Seattle and Portland have been canceled this weekend due to a landslide south of Kelso, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
Amtrak first tweeted about the cancelation of service at 2:40 a.m. Saturday. The Washington State Department of Transportation said the landslide covered the railroad tracks.
Buses are being provided to transport most passengers from Portland to Seattle.
The department said train service is expected to resume at 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
