BELLEVUE, Wash. – Police are investigating a fatal shooting and fire at a Bellevue apartment building but say there does not appear to be a danger to the public at large.

Bellevue police say they reported to the Meydenbauer Luxury Apartments near Wildwood Park at 2:15 a.m. after someone reported shots were fired. Officers arrived and spotted smoke coming from one of the apartments.

Officers forced their way in and found a man on the floor. They pulled him out and determined he was dead.

Bellevue firefighters put out the fire.

Detectives investigated and police say they believe the fire, shots fired report, and the dead man are "all related a single incident" and that there does not appear to be a danger to the public.

One officer was treated for minor smoke inhalation. Several residents were temporarily forced from their apartments due to the investigation and clean-up.
