January started with the warmest temperatures on record for Puget Sound, but conditions are taking a turn this weekend. The KING 5 weather team expects spotty showers Saturday morning into the afternoon.
Rainfall totals through Saturday morning will range from about 1 inch along the coast, up to 1.5 inches for the South Sound, about 0.50 to 0.75 inches around Seattle and less than 0.40 inches from Everett to the north, thanks to the rain shadow effect.
Gusty winds from the southwest ranging from 15 to 25 mph are expected in the Puget Sound region through Saturday afternoon. The Washington coast and Northwest Interior will see winds from the south and southwest ranging from 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph possible.
