AUBURN, Wash. -- Police believe a body found in White River is that of missing actress Misty Upham.

A purse that had Upham's ID inside was found near the body. While the medical examiner has not made a positive identification, the Auburn Police Department says the ME has enough information to presume the body is that of Upham.

The body was found around 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Auburn Way South and Elm, near the Muckleshoot Casino. Police said a member of Upham's family found the body at the bottom of an 150-foot embankment while searching for her.

Her recent performances include August: Osage County and Django Unchained.

Friend and fellow actor, Gene Tagaban, said she had achieved so much.

"To be able to be on the screen with Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts in the last film she was in, what an accomplishment," said Tagaban.

Upham was first reported missing by her father. She was last seen by her family on October 5.

"It was not like Misty's nature to disappear," said family spokesperson, Tracy Rector.

Flyers were made that stated Upham suffered from depression and an anxiety disorder, and she needed her medication.

Rector said police were no help to the family.

"They were told that her disappearance or her not being in communication was not of interest to them, not of concern," claimed Rector.

However, Auburn police Commander Steve Stocker said a detective did investigate.

"She has put a lot of time into this in the last 11 days, following up on leads. We did everything we could on this case," said Commander Stocker.

Auburn police said at this point there are no signs of foul play. The Medical Examiner is investigating the exact cause of death.
