Bomb threat forces evacuation of County-City Building in Tacoma

TACOMA, Wash. - A bomb threat forced the evacuation of the County-City Building in downtown Tacoma Wednesday morning.

According to Hunter George, Pierce County's Director of Communications, Tacoma Police received the bomb threat at the building located at 930 Tacoma Avenue.

Mark Fulgham of the Tacoma Police says they received the threat at about 6:20 a.m.

Police made the decision to evacuate the building.George says the building had not been opened to the public, so few people were forced to leave.

Police blocked off all streets around the building, including the South 11th Street hill.

Police say nothing was found during a complete check of the building.

The streets were re-opened shortly after 8:40 a.m.
