The 11-year-old boy who nearly drowned at Martha Lake this week has died, a family spokesperson said Thursday.
The boy was rushed to Seattle Children's Hospital Monday evening. He died late Wednesday evening in the company of his mother and father.
No one seemed to notice when the 11-year-old went missing on Monday evening as Martha Lake was crowded with swimmers.
The boy was spotted floating beneath the water, between two ladders at the end of a dock. He was not wearing a life jacket.
There is no lifeguard at Martha Lake, but a cabinet of life jackets is provided by Snohomish County. It is opened and closed by volunteers, who may not have been on site at the time.
