BREMERTON, Wash. - A Bremerton company is out of options in its battle to keep serving food on ferries.
The Kitsap Sun reports that after losing a legal fight to keep the food contract with Washington State Ferries, Olympic Cascade Services asked Gov. Jay Inslee to step in. The governor declined.
In March, Washington State Ferries chose national company Centerplate to operate galleys on most routes, replacing Olympic Cascade after 11 years.
The trial court and appeals court rejected Olympic's request to delay the contract and the state is expected to sign a deal with Centerplate on Thursday.
Olympic has called on Inslee to launch an independent review to determine whether the procurement process was performed correctly. Governor's office officials say Inslee doesn't plan to intervene.
