BREMERTON, Wash. — One person was critically injured in a home invasion robbery in Bremerton early Friday morning, according to the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office (KCSO).
KCSO and Bremerton police were called to a home on the 5900 block of Caymans Northeast in East Bremerton just after midnight. Law enforcement found a 20-year-old resident inside with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Several other people were inside the home during the shooting. They were not injured.
Detectives learned that multiple suspects broke into the house and multiple shots were fired.
The suspects fled the scene. Law enforcement is actively searching for them.
Investigators believe the home invasion was targeted and that the suspects knew the victim. The suspects are believed to be armed and dangerous.
The home is still an active crime scene and detectives expect to be there for several more hours, according to KCSO. People who live nearby are asked to avoid the area.
