Cougar Creek Fire in Chelan County forces more evacuations

The Cougar Creek Fire was sparked by lightning on July 28 and has burned 10,834 acres.

Level 3 evacuations are in place for the Cougar Creek Fire burning in Chelan County. Level 3 means danger is imminent and residents should evacuate immediately.

Evacuations are in effect from Mad River Road to the end of Entiat River Road (approximately milepost 25).

Level 2 evacuations mean residents should be set to leave at a moment's notice. The area of Ardenvoir on Mad River Road is at Level 2.

Level 1 evacuations mean residents should be alert and ready. The area of Entiat River Road from Crum Canyon to Mad River Road is under a Level 1 notice. Both sides of Crum Canyon Road are included.

The Cougar Creek Fire was sparked by lightning on July 28. It has grown to 10,834 acres as of Thursday.

The Red Cross is on standby at the Warehouse Community Church, located at 5750 Entiat River Road.
