Multi-vehicle crash stops traffic on SR 520 in Seattle

Two people were injured and taken to the hospital, fire officials said.

SEATTLE — A crash involving at least four cars and a bus is blocking all westbound traffic along state Route 520 near Montlake Boulevard in Seattle. 

The collision stopped traffic along the westbound lanes around 6:30 p.m. Friday night. 

The Washington State Department of Transportation says there is no estimated time of reopening and drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

Traffic cameras of the scene show at least four damaged cars at a halt, along with a King County Metro bus carrying multiple passengers.

Seattle and Bellevue Fire are on the scene, along with the Washington State Patrol.

Two people were extricated and taken to nearby hospitals. One person, a 42-year-old man, is in serious condition, and an adult woman is in stable condition. 

Nine people who were inside the bus at the time were evaluated, but they all declined transportation to a hospital, according to Seattle Fire. 

Washington State Patrol is investigating the crash.
