Donald Trump rallies support in Lynden

LYNDEN, Wash. – People lined the streets of Lynden Saturday morning ahead of presumptive Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s rally.

5:55 p.m.: After just three hours in Western Washington, Trump's plane takes off from the Bellingham airport.

5:41 p.m.: Donald Trump greets security detail and takes a few photos before boarding plane.

5:37 p.m.: Trump arrives at the Bellingham airport for departure.

5:01 p.m.: Trump motorcade leaves fairgrounds for Bellingham airport.

4:55 p.m.: Police form a human barricade dividing protesters and supporters outside the fairgrounds as Trump ends his speech.

4:45 p.m.: Trump: "I'm going to be back here a lot because we can win, we can win. We can win Washington state. I think we're going to win Oregon, also."

4:43 p.m.: Trump: "The big question is, will she [Clinton] get away with the email scandal? The system is rigged. She's guilty as hell. Will the Democrats let her run? I hope they do. I would love to beat her."

4:24 p.m.: Trump: "Let me tell you the last person ... that crooked Hillary Clinton wants to run against -- and believe me, I know -- the last person she wants to run against is Donald Trump."

4:16 p.m.: Authorities say a few protesters were arrests at the Guide Meridian blockade at River Road.

3:39 p.m.: Protesters have blocked NB Guide Meridian at River Road. It is unclear if Trump's motorcade will need to be rerouted.

LYNDEN, Wash. -- People lined the streets of Lynden on Saturday ahead of presumptive Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s rally at the Northwest Washington Fair and Event Center.

Supporters held signs and flags. One said she got in line at midnight.

“In 50 years, that I’ve seen presidents, this is the finest man that we have running for President of the United States,” said supporter Ron.

The opposition was also represented in the small farming town.

"I also think ISIS is a problem, I just don't think a Muslim ban is the solution. If anything it will create more hate," one man said.

Authorities are prepared if things get out of hand between the two sides. Police and deputies from around the region are joining forces to help keep the peace.

Trump is expected to fly into Bellingham International Airport and then make his way to the fairgrounds. He is scheduled to speak at 3 p.m.

Trump also held a rally at the Spokane Convention Center on Saturday.

Washington State University football coach Mike Leach spoke to supporters before the speech, giving trump his endorsement.

Leach, who said he was speaking for himself and not WSU, said "it's time for Mr. Trump to assist us together in our country... making America great again."

Governor Jay Inslee and other Washington Democratic leaders took aim at Donald Trump on Friday.

“Your hate is not welcome in our state,” said Inslee.

“Donald Trump is running a dangerous campaign. He’s putting forward dangerous policy proposals, and his dangerous rhetoric is actively harming families today in the state of Washington.”
