Police believe the robber is driving a black Nissan sedan.

While police released a basic description of the suspect, the department wants the community to focus on the description of the car: a black Nissan style sedan.

"If somebody sees that type of vehicle around locked mailbox areas or near one of the big blue bins and they're fiddling with it, that would be a good reason to call 911," Commander Josh McClure said.

Edmonds police consider the robber to be armed and dangerous. If you believe you've seen him, you're urged to call 911 and not confront him.

"The priority for us right now is there is an armed robber. A postal worker was doing a job and had a gun stuck in his face. There's a public safety aspect here," McClure said. "That's the most important thing for us. We're hoping we can partner with the community again to have them give us a break and get a lead on this."
