CENTRALIA, Wash. — Robert Gerard’s family has feared the worst for nearly four years.
On July 6, 2020, the 93-year-old dementia patient walked away from his Centralia home. A neighbor gave him a ride to the intersection of Pearl and Reynolds.
Gerard has not been seen since.
"We looked everywhere that we could possibly think," said Dale Gerard, Robert's son. "We don't have any more leads. He’s gone."
Robert Gerard was wearing jeans, a brown jacket and a white baseball cap when he was last seen, according to Centralia Detective Tim O’Dell.
O’Dell said Robert Gerard was walking with the assistance of a gold cane.
Centralia police issued a press release to try and generate new tips and leads.
"Hoping to trigger somebody's memory, 'Oh yeah, I gave that gentleman a ride,’” O’Dell said. “Because if he didn't get a ride, then a lot of things don't make sense."
Dale Gerard said the family needs closure. He wants to fulfill his father’s wish of being buried beside his wife of nearly 50 years, Ruby.
“He was always going to be with my mom when he passed,” Dale Gerard said.
