Scott Salmi, a 45-year-old man from Spokane Valley, was driving eastbound when he drifted into the oncoming lane and struck another car, according to WSP. His car then struck a third vehicle and came to a stop blocking the westbound lane. Salmi died at the scene.
The two other drivers were not injured in the crash.
The road was closed for over three hours while officials were investigating. WSP said it is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
