RENTON, Wash — A passenger in a Chevy Cavalier is dead and two other people are injured after a crash involving a school bus in Renton Tuesday afternoon, according to the Renton Police Department.
The driver of the Cavalier and a second passenger were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver was arrested under suspicious for DUI.
The driver of the bus, an aide on board were taken to Valley Regional Medical Center for evaluation. The two children on the bus were uninjured and taken back to school, according to police.
According to police, the Cavalier was traveling west, downhill at a high rate of speed when it lost control, fishtailed and hit the bus. The front passenger was killed.
NE Third Street was closed between Bronson Way NE and Edmonds Avenue NE while police investigated.
