FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — Two pedestrians were killed Friday after they were struck by a driver on Military Road in Federal Way near Interstate 5, the Federal Way Police Department said.
The Federal Way Police Department responded to South Star Lake Road and Military Road at 11:55 a.m.
Police believe the car was traveling southbound on Military Road, crossed the opposite traffic lane and hit the two pedestrians who were walking on the east side of the road. The car continued and hit a barrier.
The two pedestrians were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. It's unknown if there were any signs of impairment, according to police.
The roadway was closed for several hours.
The Federal Way Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the incident.
