Large fire burning north of SEA Airport

According to an airport spokesperson, the large plume of smoke is not impacting flights.

SEATAC, Wash. — A large fire is burning north of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Friday night.

Plumes of black smoke were visible from the airport and seen by passengers on the ground and those in departing airplanes. However, the fire is not impacting any flights or passengers, according to an airport spokesperson.

While the exact location of the fire is unclear, fire crews were stationed at South 146th Street in SeaTac.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
