PUYALLUP, Wash. - Police say a shooting just outside the Puyallup Fairgrounds Saturday and a stabbing inside the fair on Sunday both appear to be gang related, according to The News Tribune.

A 19-year-old man from Tacoma was seriously injured in the stabbing, which happened at about 7:15 p.m. in the midway area after an argument between two men. The victim was reportedly stabbed three times in the abdomen. The suspect got away in the crowd.

The victim underwent surgery at Tacoma General Hospital and is expected to survive.

Police say neither the victim nor witnesses would cooperate to identify the suspect.

Nobody was hurt in the Saturday night shooting in the parking lot of a Taco Bell just north of the fairgrounds. Police say it started as an argument between two groups of men.

Witnesses say two shots were fired before both groups fled the scene.

Puyallup police and a K-9 officer were able to quickly track down a suspect in that shooting. The 19-year-old man was armed with a .44 magnum revolver. The Tribune reports that man was also charged last month with residential burglary and first-degree burglary.

Two hours after the shooting, Tacoma police stopped a car that was believed to be associated with the other group. Officers found the other gun believed to be involved in the shooting and a person who matched the description of the other shooter, according to the Tribune.
