Girl looking for owner of US Air Force ring found in Snohomish County lake

Ellie Agee is looking for the owner of a U.S. Air Force ring she found while snorkeling in Martha Lake in Lynnwood.

A 12-year-old girl made an unexpected discovery while snorkeling at a lake in Lynnwood.

Ellie Agee said she was picking up glass at Martha Lake about two weeks ago when she spotted what she thought was a polished rock. But to Ellie’s surprise, what she thought was a rock was a woman’s U.S. Air Force ring in the water.

“I picked it up to look at it really fast, took my goggles off and everything and realized it was an Air Force ring,” Ellie said.

After showing the blue ring to her family members, Ellie decided to try and get the ring back to its rightful owner.

“Someone could’ve been looking for it,” Ellie said. “It was an Air Force ring, so they might not have been able to got another one.”

The ring has a blue stone in the center with United State Air Force and 56 around the top. What appears to be an U.S. Army Air Corps emblem is on the side. There is an engraving on the inside of the ring that reads “10 Karat,” Ellie said.

Bob Adee, Ellie’s grandfather, said he posted Ellie's find on the neighborhood's website, but no one has responded. Adee also contacted ring manufacturers and the Air Force while trying to help track down the owner.

"It has to have some sentimental value, either to the owner or the family that it belongs to," Adee said.
