From 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. teachers from across Washington state can come to four Goodwill outlet locations and pick up 50 books for free to take back to their students before the school year begins. Each teacher will also get 30 coupons good for one additional free book per student.

The idea came from Jennifer Kupka, a parent herself, who recognized the importance of reading and wanted to give back to the community.

The four Goodwill locations are in Kent (315 Washington Avenue South), Selah (503 South 1st Street), Tacoma (3120 South Pine Street), and Olympia (4014 Martin Way East).

Any teacher or school administrator with his or her school ID can pick up the books.

Most of the books are aimed at the elementary and middle school aged-kids, but there’s something for every age.
