OAK HARBOR, Wash. -- The man arrested after two elderly men were found dead near the town of Oak Harbor is being held without bail.
Joshua D. Lambert, 30, of Oak Harbor, appeared in Island County court Tuesday as a suspect in the stabbing death of his paternal grandfather, George Lambert.
George Lambert, 80, was found dead at his home near 2300 Oldenburg Lane Monday afternoon, and his sister, Kay Gage, was found bound up by tape. Police said Josh Lambert hit her over the head when she walked in on a struggle between him and George.
Josh Lambert's maternal grandfather, Eugene Eisner, was also stabbed to death Monday. However, according to Island County Sheriff Mark Brown, Lambert is only considered a person of high interest in that case. Eisner's body was found at his residence near the 1700 block of Hastie Lake Road.
Lambert has felony convictions in Washington, specifically possession of a firearm and malicious mischief. He also has seven gross misdemeanor convictions, including two for assault, two for theft, and one for obstructing a law enforcement officer.
Lambert was just released from an Alaksa prison a year ago, after he received a five-year sentence for assault with a deadly weapon in the city of Kodiak. He currently has no known residence.
