VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Hollywood has hit Vancouver.
Wednesday, a production crew shot scenes for a new Harrison Ford Film inside Vancouver's Columbian building. The working name of the movie is "The Untitled Crowley Project," starring Harrison Ford, Brendan Fraser, and Keri Russell.
Wednesday, dozens of fans and spectators stood outside, waiting for a star sighting, including Diane and Jeff Brundson, who brought lawn chairs, binoculars and an autograph book.
"Maybe we'll get a glimpse of a star," Jeff Brundson said. "That would be neat."
For hours, the only things they spotted were lights, costumes, and extras. Eventually, to onlookers' delight, both Harrison Ford and Brendan Fraser walked outside to their trailers.
"It's neat to be like wow, there are celebrities here," said Matthew Long, a Vancouver resident.
The film is a boost to the local economy. IATSE representative, Charlie Carlsen, told KGW that the movie employed 250 regional union workers.
"Hiring a lot of people, putting a lot of people to work," Carlsen said. "And it's at a time where we're trying to film incentive passed in the state."
"The Untitled Crowley Project" will have some scenes in Portland. On June 9, a scene will be shot at "Big Al's," an East Vancouver entertainment complex.
In the movie, John Crowley (Brendan Fraser) and his wife (Keri Russell) risk everything to find a cure for their children who are battling a deadly disease. They team up with unconventional scientist, Dr. Robert Stonehill (Harrison Ford) to find the cure.
