The early morning semi crash in Tacoma is clear, but it will have lasting impacts on the Wednesday morning commute.
Both directions of Interstate 5 near State Route 16 were blocked for a semi-trailer that crashed through the jersey barriers. The freeway reopened just after 7 a.m.
The truck was traveling southbound on I-5, according to Washington State Patrol.
Trooper Johnna Batiste tweeted about the collision early Wednesday morning. She said the truck spilled a large amount of fuel onto the roadway.
Vehicles traveling in the area were diverted through the collector/distributor lanes.
The state patrol said passengers suffered minor injuries.
Last week, a semi-trailer crashed at the same site along I-5. Both directions of the roadway were blocked or delayed for much of the morning commute.
