For almost 20 years, Joyce has reported the stories that have shaped this region. She has interviewed U.S. presidents and policy makers, entertainers and sports stars, and ordinary people who have found themselves in extraordinary circumstances: President Jimmy Carter, Secretaries of State James Baker and Madeline Albright, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, First Lady Hillary Clinton, Defense Secretary Robert McNamara, sports great Michael Jordan, and hundreds of others.

In 1997, Joyce was awarded the Best News Anchor regional Emmy for her live reporting from London of Princess Diana's tragic death. She was also honored with a first place regional RTNDA award for a series of reports on the homeless, "No Help, No Hope."< /p>

Joyce is a twin -- born and raised in the Northwest. She is one of five children. Her parents still reside in her hometown of Tacoma. Joyce graduated from Western Washington University in 1984 and currently serves on the Western Washington University Foundation board of directors. She has been recognized by her alma mater as one of Western's "100 Outstanding Alumni of the Century."

Joyce is passionate about children's health and education and serves on the Advisory Committee for the Talaris Research Institute. She is also a member of the Seattle Association of Black Journalists and the National Association of Black Journalists.

Joyce is an avid runner who completed her first marathon in 2006. She has also completed two triathlons including the Danskin Triathlon for Women.

In 2007, Joyce celebrates 15 years of marriage. She and her husband, a local physician, live in Bellevue with their two children -- a son and daughter.
