KENT, Wash. — Law enforcement is searching for a driver suspected in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 5.
The driver of a stolen vehicle spun out of control and crashed into another vehicle on I-5 northbound near State Route 516 in Kent, then fled the scene on foot, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson. The crash occurred just before midnight on Monday.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 56-year-old woman, was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The collision blocked all lanes of the interstate for several hours, causing an early morning traffic backup. Two lanes of the roadway reopened at around 2:38 a.m., with the roadway fully reopening at around 3:45 a.m.
