SEATTLE – There is some turmoil within the King County Corrections Guild. Union leaders had to report some of their own members to police over concerns about a misuse of funds.
Three Corrections Officers, a Sergeant, and a Captain who work at the King County Correctional Facility were placed on paid leave Monday afternoon because of what a recent audit found.
King County Corrections Guild President Darin Mease sent an email to King 5 saying "an audit of financial records found evidence of what appears to be a misuse of a significant amount of Guild funds by some former Board members.
The Guild's office is in the city of Tukwila, and the Guild reported it to the local police department. The investigation is ongoing.
