Kingston-Seattle fast ferry sailings canceled until further notice

Commuters who rely on ferry service continue to face issues with certain routes.

KITSAP COUNTY, Wash. — Fast ferry service between Kingston and downtown Seattle is canceled until further notice, Kitsap Transit said in a release Monday.

Kitsap Transit says the cancelation is due to a mechanical failure with one of its vessels. Passholders of Kitsap Transit in Seattle can get a ticket to ride a Washington State Ferries vessel by checking in with an agent at the Seattle passenger-only ferry dock.

The Rich Passage 1 is being pulled from Kingston service to ensure the Bremerton-Seattle route still has two-boat service, the agency said. The mechanical failure is with a different boat.

Passengers who ride buses to the Kingston Ferry Terminal are asked to use a park-and-ride and take a bus to the Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal.

Those who booked a Kingston fast ferry commuter trip can call 844-475-7433 to check the status of their trip and pick-up location if they haven't already been contacted.

Kitsap Transit customer service staff also can be reached by calling 360-373-2877 or 800-501-RIDE.
