Northbound I-5 reopens in Bellingham after landslide caused hours-long closure

The Washington State Patrol said at least two vehicles were caught in the landslide, including a semi-truck. No injuries were reported.

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — All northbound Interstate 5 lanes reopened in Bellingham after an hours-long closure due to a landslide.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Kelsey Harding first posted about the incident at 5:19 a.m. Northbound I-5 was fully blocked until around 3 p.m. by tree debris and mud six inches deep. Southbound I-5 was also partially blocked.

Harding said at least two vehicles were caught in the landslide, including a semi-truck. No injuries were reported.
