A popular brand of video baby monitors sold at Babies "R" Us, Target and other retailers is being recalled over concerns the batteries can overheat, posing a burn hazard.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued the recalled for the Lorex Care ‘N’ Share baby monitor. Around 26,000 were sold in the U.S. and 8,000 in Canada.

The batteries of video baby monitor can swell and expand, causing the battery cover to open or come off, exposing the hot batteries.

The model numbers included in the recall are WL3520, WL4320 and WL3401. The numbers are printed on the back panel of the monitor.

The monitors were sold in bundles with cameras. They contain a blue lithium polymer battery and measure about 4 inches tall by 5 inches wide. The products have a white plastic back and either a white or black border. “LOREX” or “The Lorex Baby” is printed below the monitor screen.

The monitors were sold at retailers nationwide from May 2013 to April 2016, including Babies “R” Us, B&H, Best Buy, Target, Home Depot, Walrmart and on Amazon.

Lorez has received 488 reports of batteries overheating. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled monitors and contact Lorex to receive a full refund.
