Lynnwood police working to identify man accused of groping young woman at bus stop

The 18-year-old woman told police the man approached her and told her she was cute days before he allegedly assaulted her.

LYNNWOOD, Wash — Police are trying to identify a man who is accused of groping a young woman on a bus.

According to the Lynnwood Police Department, an 18-year-old woman reported a man approached her while she was riding the bus Sept. 23 and told her she was cute. Then, two days later on Sept. 25, the woman said the same man approached her again, but this time at a bus stop near 68th Avenue West and 200th Street Southwest and grabbed her buttocks.

The woman then reported the assault to a staff member at the Rainier Place residence hall on the Edmonds College campus. The employee said a similar thing happened to her six years earlier when she was 17 years old.

She said a man moved seats to sit next to her and stare at her during the trip between Mukilteo and Lynnwood. She did not report the incident to police at the time, but she did take pictures and video of the man. When she showed the picture to the woman who reported the recent assault, she said it was the same man who assaulted her.
