SEATTLE – Of the three shooting victims that remain in the hospital, two are in critical condition, but one is showing great signs of improvement.

Nate Hatch, 14, remained in serious condition Monday, but family reports he not only woke up, he has been talking and walking inside the hospital.

Hatch is one of the three surviving victims following Friday's shooting at Marysville-Pilchuck High School. The other two remain in critical condition. Andrew Fryberg, 15, was shot in the head and is staying at Harborview in Seattle, while Shaylee Chuckulnaskit, 14, is at Providence in Everett.

On Sunday and Monday Hatch was still recovering, but he took time to update his social media accounts. On Facebook he posted "Greatful to be alive." He was very active on Twitter over the past 24 hours, including one message where he forgave his cousin, the shooter, Jaylen Fryberg.

"I love you and I forgive you Jaylen rest in peace," the tweet said.

Despite his continued improvements, Hatch acknowledged that he was in a great deal of pain.

"Worst pain I've ever felt in my life," the Twitter post said.

Hatch also took a minute to remember Gia Soriano. On Sunday night, hospital officials announced that Soriano had passed away due to the injuries she suffered in Friday's shooting. The family made a decision to donate her organs, and they thanked the doctors who cared for her around the clock.

Hatch, struggling with the loss of his friend, retweeted someone else who wrote the words: "I love you Gia."

Hatch is expected to be in the hospital for several days and his family said that the athlete will no longer be able to play sports. Hatch is expected to go in for surgery on Thursday for work on his jaw. Hatch was shot in the jaw when the shooting happened in the school cafeteria at 10:39 a.m. Friday.
