TACOMA, Wash. -- For 49 years, the Elks Lodge in Tacoma has sat vacant.

If Mike and Brian McMenamin have their way, it will reopen next year.

Known for turning historic buildings into brew pubs and musical venues, the McMenamin brothers hope to have the former Elks property renovated and opened by the end of 2017. They have 54 other locations in Oregon and Washington.

The brothers plan on turning the Tacoma building into a 46-room hotel with a brewery, a restaurant, and music venues.

During a tour Thursday, Mike and Brian McMenamin said renovation estimates have nearly doubled, and they’re looking for investors to help raise the $32 million needed to complete the project. Minimum investments start at $150,000.

Interested investors should contact McMenamins Chief Financial Officer, Chris Longinetti at clonginetti@mcmenamins.com.

The brothers put a call out for investors to complete a project in Bothell, renovating the Anderson School. That project was completed in 2015.
