Missing couple likely fled to Mexico with 2-year-old child, Pullman police say

Nadia Cole went missing on May 29 when she left Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Official says she may have fled the country with her fiancé and his daughter.

SEATTLE — A missing Washington woman, her fiancé and his 2-year-old daughter likely fled to Mexico after they were reported missing earlier this week, according to the Pullman Police Department on June 7.

Nadia Erika Cole, 21, was last seen leaving the airport just after 3 p.m. on May 29 and was believed to be traveling with her fiancé, identified as Aaron Aung of Moscow, Idaho, and his 2-year-old daughter.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for Aung for first-degree custodial interference after he failed to meet the girl's mother for a scheduled custody exchange on June 3.

Preciously, Aung was thought to have traveled to Montana for a fishing trip with his daughter because he was seen buying camping gear and a Montana map book in Moscow, according to Pullman police.

However, the investigation leads police to believe that Aung and Cole likely traveled to Mexico in a black 2014 Cadillac XTS with Idaho license 1L5147U.

According to a press release from a private investigator for Cole's family, Cole left her belongings at an airport gate to use the restroom but never returned on May 29. She was then seen leaving the airport with "a distressed expression." The last photographed sighting of her was outside the airport near the light rail platform north of the parking garage.

Cole had been preparing to go on a trip to Italy with her family, who were also at the airport.

Cole's father told KING 5 that she was last seen departing the light rail at the University Street Station in downtown Seattle on May 29. The missing flyer being distributed by authorities says Cole is from Port Angeles and recently graduated from WSU. She was set to take the LSAT in August, her father said.

"We are utterly devastated by her disappearance and are fervently praying for her safe return," her parents, Beata and Kirk Cole, wrote.

Aung is 5-foot-9 and approximately 135 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
