Mother hopes new billboards will find driver who killed her daughter in hit-and-run crash

According to Washington State Patrol, Taylor Druliner was hit by a dark-colored sedan on March 19 while crossing State Route 99 in Lynnwood.

LYNNWOOD, Wash. — A mother is on a mission to find the driver who killed her daughter in a hit-and-run crash in Lynnwood last month.

According to Washington State Patrol, Taylor Druliner was hit by a dark-colored sedan on March 19 while crossing State Route 99 near 148th in Lynnwood. The driver took off.

Druliner's mother, Carol McKinnon, hopes the newly installed billboards to bring her answers.

The three billboards showed the suspect vehicle that took off and a picture of Druliner.

Parker Outdoor donated the digital billboards. One is in Everett near Home Depot on Airport Road just a few miles from the deadly hit-and-run.

"This billboard is the most important of the three," McKinnon said. "I think it will reach a demographic we haven't reached yet, the homeless community, and there's a lot of activity around here."

Druliner was taken to the hospital and spent 11 days on life support before she died.

"I want to find the person because I'm not really allowing myself to grieve really," McKinnon said. "I'm so angry and so hurt that somebody did this and that they're ok with what they've done. I'm trying to stay focused and not fall apart because if I do then I'm not going to be productive and this is my priority right now. Finding who did this to her is my number one priority."

The mother and daughter share a special bond. Druliner would have turned 31 on Monday.

"Our birthdays are nine days apart and we used to go to the tulip festival every year," McKinnon said. "I won't go this year. Today is hard. Every day is hard. I feel like a piece of me died with her."

While McKinnon is trying to cope with her loss, she finds comfort in knowing Druliner was able to save lives as an organ donor.

"She was able to donate her heart, kidneys, liver, eyes and tissue," McKinnon said. "She's responsible for saving four or possibly five lives but I need to find who ended hers."

The billboards will be up until April 17. There have been no arrests. The Washington State Patrol said there are no new leads or suspect descriptions other than the suspect vehicle photo that has been released.

There is a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
